Statement​

Prefer technologies from the approved enterprise technology standards list; deviations require a formal Architecture Decision Record approved by the Architecture Review Board.

Rationale​

Unconstrained technology choice creates a fragmented estate that is expensive to support, difficult to hire for, and hard to integrate. Standards concentrate investment and build deep expertise.

Implications​

  • All projects reference the Technology Radar before selecting a tool
  • ADRs are stored in version control alongside code
  • The Technology Radar is reviewed semi-annually
